Sze-king Kan, an architect who graduated in 1989 from the renowned AA (Architectural Association School of Architecture), has worked for internationally recognized architectural firm - Sir Richard Rogers Partnership (now renamed as Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners Thames Wharf) and participated in the London Heathrow Airport project.
Kan returned to Hong Kong in 1996 and established CHK Partnership Ltd to promote his ideology of “Architerior” – minimalist aesthetics. During his school years, he had already won many awards; his interior design projects have also been awarded the APIDA and Perspective Awards. In his early career, he focused on restaurant designs; his projects include the COVA at Pacific Place, Pink Mao Mao at Happy Valley, Star of Shangdong, and over 30 other high class cuisine outlets. In recent years, Kan is engaged in office designs and independent residential projects.
Kan likes photography and mountain biking. Strongly influenced by Louis Kahn’s architectural philosophy, he enjoys seeing things with fresh eyes and unique interpretations.
