Research building is a very comprehensive architectural structure, and it must meet requirements on aspects of functional area, technical equipment, economic cost and law. They represent innovative means of production - that is why the design of research building is always changing.

According to the changes in the field of scientific research, the challenges faced by research architecture are how to make the high-tech equipments merged into the environment with better communication and how to integrate the institution itself into the atmosphere of communication and interaction through design. The former strictly functional organization is bound to be replaced by the beneficial communication cycle.

Здание CCTV находится среди многочисленных башен нового Центрального делового района в Пекине. Вместо того чтобы биться в гонке за предельной высотой, проект предлагает комбинацию двух высотных объемов, которые активно формируют городское пространство: CCTV и TVCC (Культурный центр Китайского телевидения). Одна «башня» целиком занята помещениями, другая заключает в себе функции, связанные с исследованиями, образованием и разные службы; обе «ноги» объединяются наверху, образуя консоль, в которой сидит руководство. Так возник новый символ места – не предсказуемая двухмерная башня, «воспаряющая» к небу, а подлинно трехмерный объект. Таким образом, архитектура неожиданно приобретает новое значение: символическое представление места производства. Большинство существующих телестанций мира возводятся без всякой связи с местом или обществом, в то время как CCTV – это окно, смотрящее в мир, здание, уникальный фасад которого показывает современную символику городу и его людям. В журнале представлены: вводная статья известного архитектора Оле Шерена, основные планы, разрезы, фасады, узлы и схемы проекта. 

Офисный комплекс «Аэрофлот — Российские авиалинии» располагается в двух километрах от аэропорта «Шереметьево» и в плане напоминает крылья — эмблему авиакомпании. Объемно-пластическое решение представляет собой два остекленных корпуса, соединенных стеклянным переходом, где находится ядро здания — вестибюль и атриум. Крыло одного корпуса представляет собой гигантскую консоль с выносом в 20 метров, которая на момент строительства считалась самой длинной в Москве. Внутреннее пространство организуют прямые и наклонные колонны, соединяющие этажи корпуса-крыла. Интерьеры здания были выполнены бюро Сергея Эстрина. Здание «Аэрофлота» пополнило московскую копилку настоящей современной архитектуры. В нем можно рассмотреть ясный и светлый образ, его чистая форма подчеркивает современность, «неустареваемость» и многоликость самой компании. В журнале представлены: вводная статья с комментариями архитекторов и дизайнеров, основные планы, разрезы, фасады, узлы и схемы проекта.
