This is the game to go beyond small talk and truly connect with people.

Empathy fuels connections between people.

But, what’s a real connection in the digital age? When do we still sit down, actively listen and engage with each other’s stories? The Empathy Game is a playful way to dive deeper with friends, family, or colleagues.

The game is simple. You pick a card and tell your story, from the everyday to the fantastic. Afterwards the listeners engage with your story by throwing the dice and exploring elements of their human experience.

The Empathy Game encourages sharing, listening and engaging with our fellow humans. It’s the active act of recognition and vulnerability that brings us closer together, and what could be better than that?

About the Authors:

Saskia H. Herrmann is a service designer, researcher, and coach. She explores the intersections between technology, science and society to facilitate innovation for good.

Saskia designs products and services to connect people and create equal opportunities. Her research focuses on empathy and collaboration, as well as on diversity and inclusion. She coaches students, professionals and executives, sharing her own explorations and learnings.

Jorik Elferink is a process designer, facilitator and co-founder at unfold. He focusses on collaboration, team dynamics and the creative process.

He works to make organisations more human and sustainable by putting planet before profit. He is driven by connection — a connection with yourself, with each other and with the planet. He designs and facilitates processes and learning methods that bring people closer together and inspire new ways of thinking and working. This leads to new and innovative ideas for the challenges of today, and the future.

Sauropods form one of the three great dinosaur groups. They roamed the planet for millions of years, with creatures ranging from the smallest Magyarosaurus to the huge Brachiosaurus.

This one-of-a-kind compendium covers the known sauropod species and features more than 2,000 diagrams and technical drawings alongside hundreds of full-colour reconstructions of specimens.

The book is divided into sections that make it easy to navigate the amazing world of in which these creatures thrived. ‘Comparing Species’ is organised by taxonomic group and weights up their sizes, how long ago they lived, and when they were discovered. ‘Mesozoic Calendar’ shows the positions of the continents at different geological time periods, ‘Prehistoric Puzzle’  compares bones, teeth, and feathers, while ‘Sauropod Life’ answers questions such as what did they eat and which one was the most intelligent.

About the Authors:

Ruben Molina-Perez and Asier Larramendi are the founders and scientific directors of Eofauna, a company that creates scientifically accurate representations of prehistoric fauna. Molina-Perez specialises in biogeography, biometrics, and palaeontology. Larramendi's work focuses on the comparative anatomy and functional morphology of extinct vertebrates.

Part of an exciting series of sturdy, square-box 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles from Flame Tree, featuring powerful and popular works of art. This new jigsaw will satisfy your need for a challenge, featuring Gustav Klimt: Three Ages of Woman. This 1000 piece jigsaw is intended for adults and children over 13 years. Not suitable for children under 3 years due to small parts. Finished Jigsaw size 735 x 510mm/29 x 20 ins. Now includes an A4 poster for reference.

Renowned Art Nouveau artist Gustav Klimt was born in Baumgarten, a suburb of Vienna. Excited by the artists in other countries who were beginning to rebel against orthodoxy Klimt began to develop new ideas, and in 1897 he co-founded the Vienna Secession. The artists of the Vienna Secession did not form a single ‘school’; they were individuals, many of whom worked in very different fields, and they certainly approached their work in very different ways. But they shared similar goals and priorities in seeking to break free of the constraints of the late nineteenth century academic art establishment. In this powerful work, Klimt sought to portray the lifecycle of women in a realistic light. Awarded the gold medal at the Esposizione Internazionale d’Arte in Rome in 1911, this painting illustrates the passing of time. In the full artwork, an elderly naked woman weeps and a young mother embraces her sleeping baby daughter.

If Berlin is Germany’s clubbing capital then Hamburg is the dinner party that’s as raucous as it is refined – and the guests are a varied bunch too. Stroll around this prosperous port city and you’ll brush shoulders with local fishermen casting their nets on the banks of the River Elbe, world-renowned gallerists hosting exhibitions by cutting-edge artists, and independent retailers flaunting wares that are either “Made in Hamburg” or highly exotic.

The magazine, Monocle, covers the world with its network of bureaus in New York, Toronto, Zurich, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Tokyo, and Singapore. It also employs more than 30 dedicated correspondents - in cities from Bangkok to Bogota, Sao Paolo to Stockholm - as well as a team of on-the-road reporters based out of its headquarters in London. This team's deep understanding of cities and all they have to offer has now been compiled in The Monocle Travel Guide Series.
