Hotels around the world will offer a 'Presidential Suite' or 'Royal Suite' for the use of VIP guests. Some of these suites are larger than 1000 square metres, and some provide special security measures.

In London, the famous Claridge's Hotel has a Royal Suite that's used by the British Royal Family so often that it's been given the nickname 'Buckingham Palace Annex'. During a two-week period when President Reagan stayed in the Presidential Suite in New York's landmark Waldorf Towers, the floors above and below his suite were kept empty, and the ceilings, floors and walls were carefully checked for listening devices. it is said that for security reasons, Reagan slept in an adjoining room, rather than the master bedroom. Тема исторического города и новой архитектуры стала главной для XVI Московского международного фестиваля «Зодчество-2008», прошедшего в Манеже в октябре 2008 года. Ее актуальность исторически почти вечна. Развитие искусства состоит в поиске новых средств выразительности языка и пластики форм, что и приводит к смене стилей, которые фиксирует история искусств, в том числе и история архитектуры. Почему же сегодня появление новых объектов в исторической среде вызывает обширную общественную полемику и, как правило, негативную оценку? Почему новое строительство расценивается как агрессивное вторжение в гармоничную городскую среду, хотя она тоже сложилась из стилистически разных компонентов? During the last 10 years there has been a significant leap forward in the development of yacht interiors. A decisive factor here was the introduction of the computer in the production process, which has greatly shortened the design phase and allowed more freedom when simulating and visualizing models. As a result, new boat forms, as well as more aerodynamic sails, have emerged, which could be carefully designed and built. The creation of modern yacht interiors reflects current design trends. There is, for instance, a clear trend towards plain and minimalist interiors. Here the designer renounces unnecessary decorative elements and employs pale colours, like white, grey and beige, which make interiors seem larger. In addition to Asian décor elements, there are also very colourful interior designs, which are appealing for their playfulness, among other reasons. Modern yachts, then, do not take a back seat to living quarters on land when it comes to comfort and design, and it is not surprising that, besides famous yacht designers, creative personalities like Armani or Philipp Starck have discovered a love for designing yachts interiors.

Yes is more is the title of an exhibition and a book presenting B.I.G. in solo format for the first time in Denmark at the Danish architecture centre.

Unlike a classic architectural monograph, this book is more of a popular cultural manifesto, which is also literally the first actual documentation of B.I.G.'s trailblazing practice. As the book demonstrates, this is a practice where method, processes, instruments and the approach to the concept of architecture is precisely as wild, unfettered and result-producing as the world it is part of and greets with an unqualified Yes. Bjarke Ingels attracts highly talented co-workers, but also gifted and ambitious clients from all over the world. He does so because his own talent is above all to swiftly create intelligent synergies out of indomitable "movements", wild energies and unforeseen dynamics and transform them into hitherto unseen, surprising, functional, valuable and beautiful solutions to the specific and complex challenges in each task.

The results of B.I.G.'s practice has already won awards from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Architecture Biennale, the prize for "The World's Best Housing Project", "Best Building in the Nordic Countries" as well as many other international kudos.

The project and the title Yes is more is a double-edged wordplay on the dogma in modern architecture that "less is more". Less is only more as far as dimensions go - the ability to encompass as many dimensions as possible (more) with as few expenses as possible (less). As a design parameter for an aesthetic retro minimalism this only amounts to idiosyncratic architectural idiocy.
