A Stencil is a templated used to draw or paint identical letters, symbols, shapes, or patterns every time it is used. Stencils havs become popular for graffiti since stencil art using spray-paint can be produced quickly and easily. These qualities are important for graffiti artists where stenciling is illegal or quasi-legal, depending on the city and stenciling surface. The extensive lettering possible with stencils makes it especially attractive to political artists

Willow Crossley believes that everything in the home, however mundane, can be beautiful.

This book shows her ideas for turning the most basic objects into original life enhancers. Willow casts her crafting style all around the house and beyond, making things you will want to keep for yourself or reluctantly give away as presents.

The first chapter, To Decorate, includes floral napkin rings, seasonal wreaths, Christmas baubles and vintage fabric bunting. To Hang shows how to fill printers’ trays with your own treasures, make pictures from stamps and buttons, and create your own pinboard with fabulous ribbons. To Nest includes ideas for grainsack cushions, block print napkins and heart-shaped lavender bags. In To Wear, there are fabric-twisted bracelets, silk-trimmed panama hats and simple linen aprons.

To Use is a feast of candles made in vintage teacups, fabric-covered books, bath salts infused with lavender and coat hangers decoupaged with fabric scraps. Having lived in France, Willow is besotted by their vintage textiles as well as their knack of making life’s necessities, such as a straw hat or panier basket, so effortlessly decorative. None of her ideas are difficult to create or demand serious sewing or crafting skills.

The only requirements needed are patience and the desire to find those raw materials that work their magic.

"A woman once rang me up and said, 'Mr. Escher, I am absolutely crazy about your work. In your print Reptiles, you have given such a striking illustration of reincarnation.' I replied, ‘Madame, if that`s the way you see it, so be it.`" An engagingly sly comment by the renowned Dutch graphic artist Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898–1972) - the complex ambiguities of whose work leave hasty or single-minded interpretations far behind. Long before the first computer-generated 3-D images were thrilling the public, Escher was a master of the third dimension. His lithograph "Magic Mirror" dates as far back as 1946. In taking that title for this book, mathematician Bruno Ernst is stressing the magic spell Escher`s work invariably casts on those who see it. Ernst visited Escher every week for a year, systematically talking through his entire œuvre with him. Their discussions resulted in a friendship that gave Ernst intimate access to the life and conceptual world of Escher. Ernst`s account was meticulously scrutinized and made accurate by the artist himself.

Escher`s work refuses to be pigeonholed. Scientific, psychological, or aesthetic criteria alone cannot do it justice. The questions remain. Why did he create the pictures? How did he construct them? What preliminary studies were necessary before he could arrive at the final version? And how are the various images Escher created interrelated? This book, complete with biographical data, 250 illustrations, and explications of mathematical problems, offers answers to these and many other questions and is an authentic source text of the first order.

Managers, we all know them. They make sure that things get done, that agreements are observed and that results are achieved.

Ten years ago they were seen as the ideal solution for many companies. These days, their very existence is being called into question. Why this separate role? After all, managing is something we all do.

Think Like a Manager, Don't Act Like One offers 75 successful approaches to help you foresee or manage unpredictable situations. Developed with the assistance of John F. Kennedy, Johan Cruijff, Casanova, talented management gurus, elusive laboratory molds, one oval table, one donkey, Barack Obama, and Johnny Cash. These 75 perspectives will add to your confusion; but also your understanding.

This collection of approaches may well irritate you from time to time, and possibly inspire you, but really it should make you think. It probably wouldn't be sensible to follow every one of them, but they might give you some fresh ideas. Because those who keep doing what they've always done achieve the results they've always achieved.

The tuning and customizing any means of transport, is a growing industry and a very popular and widespread hobby. The process consists equally of making modifications to the mechanics as to the vehicle's external appearance to achieve a unique style which is tuned to the style of its owner's driving.

For this reason it's not uncommon to hear it said there are no two cars tuned absolutely alike. The interest in tuning is increasing exponentially and almost every town or village, no matter how small, includes a couple of dates on its local fairs and fiestas calendar to organize a rally to display tuning in its pure state, something which has developed into a cult and an approach to style which has become part of today's "urban culture". This activity is a cultural expression of urban life, very similar to tattoos or piercing.
