About the Author:

Alex Hillkurtz was born in England and grew up in California, where he works as a renowned storyboard artist for feature films, television, and commercials. His film credits include Argo, Almost Famous, It’s Complicated, Vanilla Sky, and many others. He uses the language of cinema to inform his images, moving beyond what one sees, and depicting what he wants others to see.

Alex has taught sketching, plein air, and watercolor workshops in Germany, Russia, Italy, the Netherlands, France, the UK, and the US. His artwork, which has earned him Signature status in the National Watercolor Society as a Master artist, has been exhibited at L'Entrée des Artistes in Paris, Matite en Viaggio in Venice, and MiArs in Milan. About the Author:

Stephen Bauman is a classically trained artist and spent 12 years as an instructor in the drawing and painting programme of the The Florence Academy of Art. He was also the director of the Anatomy & Ecorche Department for six years, first in Sweden and then in the USA. In 2020, he left the academy to focus his efforts on his art career and online courses.

The blog and weekly print column, which combine location sketches and written stories, have quickly become popular in the Seattle area, where Campanario has been featured in TV and radio appearances. A native Spaniard, Campanario moved to the U.S. in 1998 and has lived near Seattle with his wife and two children since 2006. His journalism career spans two decades, working for newspapers in Barcelona, Lisbon, California, and Virginia.
