In the past five years, the globalised trend of interior design has seemingly been led by the five cities-renowned as the cities of design, including Tokyo, Paris, Milan, London and New York. At the same time, it has become a common realization of designers around the world to explore and employ the local features for each project with the advancement of economy and culture.

The book, Atlas of world Interiors, with 500 projects selected, is a detailed and comprehensive portrayal of the best and newest interior projects from 6 continents of more than 50 countries. In detail, the projects are of different styles, such as the pragmatism of North America, the naturalism of South America, the regionalism of Asia, the minimalism of North Europe and the luxurism of the Mediterranean area. In countries such as, Iran, United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia and so on, the history and culture of a particular location was subtly integrated into the interior design through innovative approaches. Moreover, designers can also be inspired a lot by this book to search a balance between the overwhelmingly globalized trend and the increasingly personalized feature.

This book offers readers a visual feast with the collection of world's most classic interior projects and is categorized into 10 parts, including culture and leisure, restaurant, bar, shop and showroom, spa and fitness, hospital and pharmacy, office, teaching and research, house, hotel, transport and factory. Each project is illustrated with real photos, plans and text. In addition, each geographic region is distinguished by a different color-code. We firmly believe and hope it will serve as a source of pleasure and inspiration to all its readers.

Landscape architecture is comprised of a wide and multifaceted range of very diverse outdoor space designs – that can be stern or playful, shrill or romantic, straightforward or low-key. As their main ‘building materials’ are trees and shrubs, flowers and grass, landscape architecture projects are in a constant state of flux. They range from expansive natural and cultivated landscapes, via picturesque front yards and courtyards, spectacular greened façades and roofs, up to innovative outdoor designs that nearly or completely make do without any vegetation at all.

All works featured in the Atlas of World Landscape Architecture share the fact that they constitute and provide ecologically and socially intact living environments for human beings.

What "really constitutes an architectural atmosphere,” Peter Zumthor says, is "this singular density and mood, this feeling of presence, well-being, harmony, beauty ... under whose spell I experience what I otherwise would not experience in precisely this way.” Zumthor’s passion is the creation of buildings that produce this kind of effect, but how can one actually set out to achieve it?

In nine short, illustrated chapters framed as a process of self-observation, Peter Zumthor describes what he has on his mind as he sets about creating the atmosphere of his houses. Images of spaces and buildings that affect him are every bit as important as particular pieces of music or books that inspire him. From the composition and "presence” of the materials to the handling of proportions and the effect of light, this poetics of architecture enables the reader to recapitulate what really matters in the process of house design.

The first overview of Australian architecture from the fifties to the present day

Since the 1950s, a unique form of modern architecture has been developing in Australia — a “progressive modernism,” which involves the dynamic combination of tradition and transformation. This catalogue accompanies the exhibition Living the Modern: Australian Architecture, and analyzes this culture- and environment-specific architecture, using its residential constructions as a basis for examination. The scope of the book extends from detached family houses to high-rise buildings. Examples of early design from the post-war period are explored in an introductory overview, but the focus of the publication is directed towards a diverse mix of twenty-five Australian architects. For the last fifteen years, they have been applying, interpreting, or reworking modernist approaches, but despite fame in their homeland, their outstanding and refreshing productions remain largely unheard of in Europe.

Everyone likes a good hotel, the same way that no one likes a bad hotel. It’s also important to remember that everyone drools over the best hotels. This large book is a visual guide to the best hotels on offer in the world today. We don’t just mean the hotel you visit once every two years – even though it’s pretty amazing and has its own pool; we mean the hotels you see criminal masterminds relax in from James Bond films. We mean the hotels with the maxim to eliminate all possible limits that deconstruct pleasure. From the psychedelic kaleidoscope Semiramis in Greece featuring bright coloured glass walls and retro padded furniture, to the hotels where you can actually dive behind your lounge into the sand-bed shallow reef, or an actual castle in an actual oasis in Dubai, you will actually sweat with jealousy and disbelief that these places actually exist.

Amongthe interiors illustrated are grand reception rooms, bedrooms and boudoirs, artists' studios, dining rooms, hallways and a kitchen. Alastair Duncan's scholarly introduction and the detailed documentary captions, which identify the designers, architects and decorators, provide a unique insight into the decorative style of this important period. The book is an essential acquisition for all modern designers, decorators, home furnishers and collectors.

The Author Maurice Dufrêne was a renowned professional decorator, editor of Maîtrise des Galeries Lafayette and president of Class 7 at the prestigious ParisExhibition des Arts Décoratifs.
