As much of a barometer of design as its successful predecessors, Night Fever 5 is a global overview of the prevailing trends in hospitality design. The luxurious volume consists of three chapters; the first covers bars and clubs, the second features restaurants, and the third is devoted to hotel interiors. This book offers readers 100+ fresh and exciting projects featured on a total of 496 pages. Interiors are featured on 2 to 8 pages that are filled with photos, drawings, sketches, floor plans and of course a description of the design.

Projects are selected based on their original concept, creativity, innovative approach or the project’s unmistakable wow-factor. An extensive index at the back of the book describes each featured design studio including their contact details and the addresses of each venue they have designed.

For comfortable and stylish interiors, look no further than Nina Campbell, the doyenne of English interior design today. Rooms with sophisticated colour combinations, tailored upholstery, whimsical antiques, and unquestionable ease — motifs that are uniquely Campbell’s but that also echo her early influences working with legend John Fowler.

Nina Campbell’s almost fifty-year career exemplifies the best of English interior design. Campbell imparts her design wisdom through a biography of her career and recent decorating projects, sharing tips and secrets of the trade. A selection of the designer’s own London residences outlines her experimentations and passions — from pared-back grandeur to bold plays of scale and modern use of texture and colour. A survey of Nina’s high-profile commissions completed in the last five years demonstrates how she employs the key principles of her design aesthetic in a variety of contexts, from prestigious addresses in London and New York, a pied-à-terre in Rome, and a retreat in the English countryside to a historic German hotel, a viewing pavilion at the Ascot, and a Los Angeles bedroom suite. The running theme is how Campbell has taken the tenets of classic English style and uses them to create a style germane to the twenty-first century.

This book is for people who love English design, one of the most enduring decorating styles of the past fifty years — traditional interiors with vibrant colours, luxurious textiles, pared-down elegance, and, above all, true comfort. A necessary addition to design libraries on masters of the field.

Nina Campbell, pioneer of classic English comfort and style, has produced a uniquely revealing book, explaining not only her trademark touches, secret sources and techniques, but her personal inspirations and the very methods she uses in her international designs; and then, using a selection of her town and country interiors, shows you how to use them for each individual home. In her Decorating Notebook, Nina takes the home decorator through each stage, from bare walls to styling cushions. With hints and tips from her own diaries and notebooks, Nina explains how to think as a successful decorator does, and how to assess your own home as a designer would. Firstly, she explains how to find inspirations that work. Once you have found your inspiration, Nina explains how to put it into practice with creative solutions to the key question: how to assess your needs. Nina explains how to make those all-important decisions; from assessing the shape of a room and whether your space works well for your needs to how to plan a lighting scheme. The book covers all types of home, from tiny apartments in the city to cozy family houses outside town. Accompanied by specially commissioned photographs, with annotated "before" and "after" shots, from start to finish as well as invaluable questionnaires and checklists, learn how to decide what you want, what you need, and then, above all, indulge yourself with Nina’s innovative, yet accessible, ideas about the best schemes to suit you.

"A room may be crammed with hideous furniture, be painted in shrieking shapes or have the sort of patterned carpet that makes you feel giddy, but you have to rise above this and see only the structure that lies underneath," says decorator Nina Campbell. In Nina Campbell's Decorating Secrets, the acclaimed British interior designer takes you through the most integral steps of home decorating, room by room. Nina Campbell's signature design is "layering," which means every element--the furniture, wall coverings, carpet, lighting, accessories--should complement each other and the overall scheme of the room. She starts with the hall, the first impression of your home, then moves into the drawing and sitting rooms, the dining room, the kitchen, the study and library, the bedrooms, and then the bathrooms. Campbell uses her own home and other posh London residences as her examples, but you may not have this many rooms, the wallet, or the will to acquire them; however, you can still come away with ideas for your own home. The style she prefers is lush, rich, and elegant but some may find a Campbell-decorated home overstuffed and ornate. Whether or not you're a fan of chintz, you can still find inspiration from her thoughtful process, her emphasis on harmony between function and aesthetics, and her insistence on a comfortable home in which you can have both private retreats and areas for entertaining. "Your home is an extension of your personality," she says, "and it is this that you want to capture when putting your decorative scheme together."

The quality of light in Scandinavia has given rise to some of the most important and influential architecture of the modern period. This book celebrates established icons, newly discovered gems and contemporary masterworks that represent the highest expression of Scandinavian design and response to their environment.

Highly refined building techniques combined with the stark contrast between the scarcity of light in winter and the glow of long summer days have provided the context for architectural acts of genius.

Just under fifty projects are featured here in detail, ordered according to the way in which different light conditions have imparted particular qualities to the buildings.

Henry Plummer has a uniquely authoritative perspective and his words resonate directly with his own artfully taken images.

Books that give a true sense of the magical light that have shaped great buildings are rare: this is a publication to savour.

Norman Bel Geddes Designs America accompanies a landmark exhibition exploring the career of Norman Bel Geddes (1893–1958), one of the 20th century’s foremost theatrical and industrial designers. This companion volume explores Bel Geddes’s life and career in comprehensive detail through nearly 100 projects, ranging from streamlined airplanes, ships, and cars, to stage sets, appliances, and much more. Both the exhibition and the book bring together never-before-seen drawings, models, photographs, and films drawn from the Ransom Center’s Bel Geddes collection. He is perhaps best known for his Futurama display for the General Motors Highways and Horizons exhibit at the New York World’s Fair of 1939–40, which to this day remains a useful model for city planning and design. The exhibition is curated by Donald Albrecht, who contributed the book’s introduction and serves as its editor. In addition to Albrecht, who has written the introduction, twenty scholars have contributed essays.

Now in an updated and expanded edition, an invaluable guide to the work of one of the world's leading architects. Highlighting recent projects, Norman Foster: Catalogue traces the development of the Foster studio from its formation in the 1960s to the present. More than 70 buildings and projects are featured in stunning full-color photographs and complemented by architectural sketches and drawings. The book examines the distinctive features of Foster's work and shows the full range of the practice's achievements as urban planners, architects, and industrial designers. Underlying Foster and Partners' use of new technologies are concerns with sustainability and environmental issues in their designs.

Organized by themes, it includes the studio's latest buildings such as the Beijing Airport along with other important projects such as the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., the Hearst Tower in New York, the Great Court at the British Museum in London, and the distinctive new headquarters tower for Swiss Re- winner of the 2004 Stirling Prize. Including numerous current works, unbuilt projects such as Foster's design for the World Trade Center competition, as well as buildings that showcase the essential characteristics of Foster's distinctive design philosophy, this book presents a comprehensive overview of the renowned architect's career to date.
