About the Author:

Adrian George is a curator, commissioner, writer and educator with over twenty-three years’ experience working in some of the most influential art institutions in the world including the New Museum, New York; Tate Modern; Tate Liverpool and the UK Government Art Collection, UK. He is currently Director: Programmes, Exhibitions and Museum Services at ArtScience Museum, Singapore.

The Cure “Stills” follows the changing faces of one of the leading British rock bands during the post-punk and new-wave movements of the late ’70s and ’80s. As the band has continued over a period of nearly 50 years, front man and only constant member Robert Smith has maintained the band’s popularity throughout the changing musical eras, while staying true to their individualistic style and quirkiness.

Instrumental in the creation of the varying incarnations of The Cure is photographer Paul Cox, who first encountered the group on Top of the Pops in 1980. About the Author:

Paul’s career took off in the late 1970’s initially with a job with London Features International photographing bands at concerts and various locations. One of these was the BBC studios for Top of the Pops, where Paul first encountered The Cure in 1980.
