Simon Baker is Director of Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris (MEP). He was formerly Senior Curator, Photography and International Art, Tate. Prior to becoming Tate’s first curator of photography, he was Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Nottingham. He has written widely on surrealism, photography and contemporary art.

Ginny Redington Dawes, a life-long collector of antique jewelry, has written two previous books on the subject - The Bakelite Jewellery Book and Victorian Jewellery. Staff writer for MGM Screengems Music, she is also a successful composer; she wrote the book, music and lyrics for the off-Broadway show The Talk of the Town and has won a CLEO award for music for advertising.

Olivia Collings became fascinated by the seventeenth century alchemist and jeweler Christopher Pinchbeck at an early age and bought her first piece of antique jewelry aged seven. She trained in an exclusive Bond Street antique jewelry shop before starting her own business in 1975 and has continued learning about and dealing in Georgian jewellery ever since. She is now an independent jewelry consultant.

A major reassessment of Germaine Richier's work and impact on 20th-century sculpture

Germaine Richier (1902–59) occupies a central position in the history of modern sculpture. Predominantly working in bronze, her art revitalized the form of the figure, forging radical new images of men and women in the post-war period which blended the human body and natural forms in a hybrid of abstraction and figuration.

As the first woman artist to have a solo exhibition in her own lifetime at the Musée National d’Art Moderne, Paris, she held a unique position in the 1940s and 50s as a successful female career artist, exhibiting internationally and developing a style that has been largely overshadowed by the predominant male canon.

This major reassessment of Richier’s complete oeuvre establishes her key position within the artistic context of her time and, more broadly, her influential impact on 20th-century sculpture. Tattoo is a human activity that lasted for thousands of years. The earliest recorded tattoo comes from the ice man that lived 3000 thousand years ago. This book is an exploration of the artistic world of Gianluca Pacchioni, from the backstage of his workshop in Milan to his incredible studio-house, as well as finished projects and open-air installations. Victoria Noel-Johnson is an art curator and historian specialised in early 20th-century Italian art. Recognised as one of the greatest experts of Giorgio de Chirico’s painting, from 2008 to 2017 she was the scientific curator at the Fondazione Giorgio e Isa de Chirico, where she managed the art collection and international exhibition programme for the Foundation.

Zorzi da Castelfranco, known as Giorgione: is an artist who has so few confirmed works attributed to him, and about whose life little is known.

Yet, after a career span of just over ten years, Giorgione has achieved a fame that has remained unchanged over the centuries. Vasari famously wrote that Giotto "recovered the true method of painting, which had been lost for many years before him," and indeed, he is traditionally considered a founder of the Italian Renaissance.

Producing a series of commissioned works for the church and upper classes in his native Tuscany and surrounding regions, Giotto changed the course of European art by breaking away from the rigid, stereotyped figures of the Byzantine and medieval traditions.
