An invaluable tool for fashion students, couture connoisseurs and professional designers. The second volume of our practical manual about the art of draping, a fashion technique that involves working with fabric directly on the mannequin. Following the first volume of Fashion Draping Techniques, which focused on details such as collars, sleeves and knots, this new volume takes a step forward and moves on to complete items of clothing, such as dresses, blouses, jackets, and skirts, all explained in a detailed and easy to understand manner. Draping involves working with fabric directly on the dress stand, allowing designers to bring their creations to life, adapting the style and fit as they work. The results are new styles, cuts and lines that give life to a new three-dimensional prototype, without the standardised restrictions of paper patterns. This gives designers an immediate idea of what their creation will look like and easily lets them decide how to move forward, through the use of toile, pins, pleats, modules, draping, craftsmanship, and boundless of creativity.
