The work of British masters including Inigo Jones, William Kent and Robert Adam, as well as of influential twentieth-century tastemakers such as Nancy Lancaster, Pauline de Rothschild and David Hicks, is revealed in striking photographs and authoritative texts.

A tribute to horses, their riders, stables, and the equestrian lifestyle around the world. Derry Moore’s photographs celebrate the extraordinary beauty in the trappings and traditions of the equestrian world. Offering a privileged glimpse into the lives of jockeys and cavalrymen, Spanish riding schools, and Midwestern rodeos, these pictures take the reader to paddocks, courses, and stables the world over and reveal the customs and passions of equestrian culture. From stablehands grooming before an English country hunt to blacksmiths shoeing showhorses to pull royal carriages in Spain, and from immaculate dressage riders at Chantilly to roughshod jockeys in the dusty fields of India, Moore’s photographs offer a profound and romantic insight into the connection that binds us to these animals. With contributions from legendary owners and trainers, this elegant book paints a picture of an entire equestrian world, from the racecourses of Keeneland in Kentucky to the training stables at Newmarket, and from the majestic working Suffolk Punches to Frankel, the most valuable stud in the world. Moore’s work — with a unique eye for character, not just in his portraits of the horses but in the details of their surroundings — is a fitting celebration of a lifestyle that continues to inspire.

In House celebrates some of the world’s most striking and eccentric rooms, beautifully captured by Derry Moore, the 12th Earl of Drogheda and a regular contributor to Architectural Digest and Nest magazines, who for nearly thirty-five years has inimitably photographed unique, style-setting houses. Richly diverse in style and period, what these extraordinary interiors share is an eccentricity and a commitment to decorative aesthetics that has singled them out in the eyes of the world’s most discerning arbiters of taste.

From an airy and colorful Moroccan palace to an austere but whimsical Scottish castle; from an Art Deco masterpiece in Jodhpur to Alphonse Mucha’s cluttered apartment in Prague; and from the museumlike home of one of London’s most macabre collectors to the extravagant remnants of Madrid’s aristocratic heritage, Moore reveals his impeccable taste and unrivaled eye for light in some of the most surprising and original rooms in the world.

Each of the houses is accompanied by a commentary by noted architecture and interior design writer Mitchell Owens, and each is uniquely laid out in sympathy with its character by award-winning graphic designer Jonathan Barnbrook. Together, their vision has produced a testament both to extraordinary interior design and to the unique eye of a master of interior photography.

Rooms celebrates some of the most luxurious and bold interiors around the globe and the creative sensibilities of the people who inspired them.

Beautifully presented through the sumptuous photography of Derry Moore, the 12th Earl of Drogheda, who has photographed some of the world's most spectacular houses as well as some of the most notable personalities in their homes, this lavish publication captures the dramatic spirit of such vivid figures as famed early twentieth-century interior designer Elsie de Wolfe, contemporary design legend Renzo Mongiardino, and the legendary decorator Nancy Lancaster.

Moore revolutionized interior photography with his technical acuity, his keen aesthetic eye and his impeccably good taste.

This vision culminated in an inspired collaboration with Joseph Holtzman, founding editor in chief and art director of the celebrated and controversial magazine Nest, and one of the great tastemakers of our age. This long-awaited book features a remarkable array of spectacular interiors, ranging from Charleston, the famed haunt of the Bloomsbury group, to India's Falaknuma Palace, Pauline de Rothschild's London residence, and Chatsworth Hall, Derbyshire, the grandest of English country houses.
