A sequel to the extremely popular I Adulted: Stickers for Grown-Ups, I Adulted at Work! is a whimsically illustrated book containing 250 removable stickers that congratulate supposed grown-ups on a job well done . . . or at least a job done.

Despite official reports, most adults feel completely and totally ill-prepared to deal. With anything. They still, as purportedly self-sufficient grown-ups, look toward older generations and think, "How did they do that?" So the easiest and best way to find comfort is to look not ahead at uncertainty (or, heaven forbid, around at the chaos currently surrounding them), but to the past to their simpler childhoods. And it is with brightly colored stickers in the workplace that they will finally find peace of mind. For a little while, at least.
Filled with 250 full-color removable stickers that can be used to decorate journals, notebooks, or your lapel to proudly and publicly proclaim work life's little victories, I Adulted at Work! is the ideal nostalgic and practical book for anyone who feels a sense of accomplishment by making it through a day on the job without calling their mother for help.

About the Author:

Robb Pearlman is an editor, author, and pop culture junkie. He is the author of more than thirty books for adults and kids, including I Adulted! What Would Skeletor Do?, and The Wit and Wisdom of Star Trek.

Idealistic visions of the Soviet capital that were never realised.

Published at the centenary of the Russian Revolution, Imagine Moscow: Architecture, Propaganda, Revolution portrays Moscow as it was envisioned by a bold generation of architects in the 1920s and early 1930s. Through evocative imagery and a wealth of rarely seen material, this book provides a window into an idealistic fantasy of the Soviet capital that was never realised and has since been largely forgotten.

Focusing on six unbuilt architectural landmarks, Imagine Moscow explores how these projects reflected changes in everyday life and society following the revolution, during one of the most fascinating periods of the twentieth century. Large-scale architectural plans, models and drawings are placed alongside propaganda posters, textiles and porcelain, contextualising the transformation of a city reborn as the new capital of the USSR and the international centre of socialism.

Roy Lichtenstein’s masterful Pop Art posters from 1962 to 1997 are showcased in this collection of 68 full-color reproductions.

Lichtenstein’s art is most recognizable for its trademark benday dots and two-dimensional planes, cartoonlike qualities that placed him at the forefront of the American Pop Art scene. With its emphasis on consumer culture, Lichtenstein’s style lent itself easily to the poster genre. This volume opens with his earliest poster, designed for his first exhibition at Leo Castelli Gallery in 1962, and closes with his last, which he completed the year of his death. An additional section features reproductions from the Claus von Olden collection and includes posters and flyers that were produced all over the world using Lichtenstein’s iconic motifs. The works reflect Lichtenstein’s prolific imagination and ability to adapt his vision to the promotion of music and film festivals, theatrical performances, museums, restaurants, and public service messages as well as his own exhibitions. An essay discusses Lichtenstein’s development as an artist who blurred the boundaries between lowbrow and highbrow art.

John Fleskes is the president and publisher of Flesk Publications. He has published dozens of books featuring some of the top contemporary and most revered artists in the field. Fleskes has contributed to numerous books as writer, editor and designer. He is based in Santa Cruz, California.

Virginie Ropars was born in Brittany (France) in 1976. Virginie’s figures are in between sculpture, fashion design and illustration, building up visions sometimes full of wonders, other times strange and gloomy where femininity took away the main place. An inner world she primary expressed in drawings while she worked as a 2D/3D graphic artist for computer games and TV cartoon industry. Virginie's work is shown throughout Europe in art galleries and art shows and also in the United States and Russia. Her work has been featured in many magazines and publications. Her dimensional interpretation of Brom's main character Jack, in The Plucker novel won the Spectrum 19 Gold Award (in 2012), she also received the Spectrum 20 Gold Award (in 2013) for one of her personal work, Acanthophis III. Virginie currently resides in Brittany, France.

Erica Williams, also known as HookieDuke, is an illustrator known for their intricate mark-making and illustrations of flora and fauna. Tangled with fantastic and often macabre tones much of their work focuses on the forgotten, endangered, the occult and lore. Erica attended Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI), and became a freelance illustrator in 2012. Since starting they have created posters, album art, apparel, identity, print advertisements, book covers, skateboards, and various merchandise for a variety of clients and industries. Their work has been included in Spectrum Fantastic Art, Curvy, Alternative Movie Posters, and others. Erica currently resides in Michigan.

Stephanie Law's images trace the boundary between dream and reality. She delves into the pictoral language of allegory, explores mythology in new contexts, chases tiny worlds of wonder from an insect's viewpoint, and highlights the beauty of growth and decay found in nature. She interweaves texture, watercolor, gold and silver leaf, ink, and creates intricate layered pieces with resin and custom designed frames. In a meld of organic patterns and familiar archetypes, her paintings pose a question on the nature of perception and beauty, and it is against this backdrop that the ephemeral guides and strange creatures dance and beckon the viewer to follow through her various series. Archetypes, the basis for the universal appeal of mythological concepts, are one of the defining inspirations for her imagery. This is mingled with the movement of dance. Stephanie has been a dancer for almost two decades, and she uses that experience of how the human body moves and emotes to create a bridge into her artwork so that not only do the humans dance across the page, but the branches of her trees move with a sinuous grace, and the arrangement of inanimate elements has a choreographed rhythm and flow. Growing up in California, Stephanie has been surrounded by the wealth of natural inspiration all around her. The twisting boughs of live oaks from the hills near her home insinuate themselves into her paintings. The chaos of Nature's wild growth, and conversely the beauty of decay, echo in the textures and fractal patterns of her work. Early on, her career moved through the illustration and gaming world, but in recent decades she has focused more on her own body of work, gallery shows, and publications.  Stephanie currently resides in Oakland, California.

Karla Ortiz is an award-winning artist who enjoys working on a diverse and wide variety of projects. As a concept artist with over 10 years of professional experience, Karla has worked for Paragon Studios/NcSoft, Ubisoft, Kabam, Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), Marvel Film Studios, Universal Studios and HBO. As a professional Illustrator her clients include Wizards of the Coast, Ace Books, Tor Books, Orbit Books, CB+P and has provided cover work and art for various independent authors and toy makers. As a fine artist her work has shown in the Studio Gallery SF, the Safehouse studios shows, Thinkspace Art Gallery,  Nucleus Gallery, Spoke Art Gallery, Hashimoto Contemporary and internationally at Galerie Arludik in Paris, France. Karla loves good music, good stories, good laughs and good food. She paints her days away with her cat Keedy Bady, and that's how she likes it. Karla currently resides in San Francisco, California.

By Mark Ryden Foreword by Takashi Murakami
ID: 18289
Издательство: Abrams

Mark Ryden’s Yakalina Secrets is the wondrous second installment in the artist’s incredible gallery of creatures.

In his Pacific Northwest studio during the isolation of COVID-19, Mark Ryden began a series of his iconic half-animal, half-plush creatures that further explored his reverence for these beings, who are guides through a landscape of the unknown. The figures in these paintings are neither human nor animal, they are spiritual entities that create a bridge between the human and animal worlds in which so much disharmony exists.

This book features all of the original portraits of Ryden’s mysterious and mythical creatures. The resulting gallery of enchanted characters embodies the artist’s meticulously realized signature blend of archetype, kitsch, and narrative mysticism.

Mark Ryden’sYakalina Secrets features works from two of the artist’s exhibitions, organized in collaboration with Emmanuel Perrotin and Kasmin Gallery: Animal Secrets in Paris and Yakalina 9 in Tokyo.

Foreword by Takashi Murakami

About the Author:

Blending pop culture themes with techniques reminiscent of the old masters, Mark Ryden has created a singular style that blurs the traditional boundaries between high and low art. His work first garnered attention in the 1990s when he ushered in a new genre of painting, “pop surrealism,” dragging a host of followers in his wake. Ryden has trumped the initial surrealist strategies by choosing topics loaded with cultural connotation.
