Living somewhere as renowned for rain and ridiculous property prices as England, it is hardly difficult to see why Sarah, her husband and their son though becoming olive growers in Italy would be a good idea. Following on from the TV programme showing Sarah's idea becoming reality, this book follows the family's move from the very germ of the idea through finding a house, building up their business and learning about the local community. Shot over a period of five years, in Tuscany Nudes Hegre shows more than 100 photographs that pay homage to the Renaissance, the flowing contours of his exquisitely proportioned female figures against a backdrop of elegant palaces. Hegre's nudes are completely natural, no artifice or accessories, the combination a blend of the classic and contemporary – the realization of Hegre's youthful ambitions. We are in these photographs at once both in the present and transported back to some mystical time and place. Hegre has worked alone, without assistants, using primarily natural light and the rich ingredients of Tuscany; wine, olive oil, grape. A good proportion of the photographs in Tuscany Nudes was created at Villa Mangiacane, the 16th century stately home built for the Machiavelli family. The South African owner Glynn Cohen has restored the house and gardens to their original splendor, the ancient statuary and mesmerising pools creating a feeling that in Tuscany, time is eternal, as are Petter Hegre's photographs in this memorable collection.

Eccentric, driven by his insatiable curiosity for people, blessed with a tremendous and rather black sense of humour as well as with a gift for technical precision in his work, fashion photographer Michel Comte (b. 1954) has amassed in recent years an incomparable collection of portraits from the world of American show business. Uwe Ommer, a sought-after commercial photographer based in New York and Paris, has made a name for himself with his own uncommissioned works, as this book eloquently attests. The photographer:
Uwe Ommer became fascinated with photography at a young age and in 1962 moved to Paris, where he initially worked as a photographer’s assistant. Within a few years, he opened his own photography studio, primarily shooting fashion and advertising photos. Quickly gaining respect for his work in Paris, Ommer began showing in local galleries and eventually published his first book, Photoedition Uwe Ommer, in 1979, a collection of personal and advertising works. In the following years, he would publish five more books of his photographs. In 2002, Uwe Ommer was awarded an Honorary Fellowship to the Royal Photographic Society for the impact of his lifetime of work. His books for TASCHEN include Black Ladies, Asian Ladies, Transit, and 1000 Families.

Back in 1974, the sexual revolution was in full swing and the adult entertainment business was on the verge of becoming Big Business. Deep Throat had created America’s first porn star in 1972, but by 1974 Linda Lovelace was already retired and the industry was seeking the next big thing.
