Poem of Colors. The most remarkable abodes from Costa Careyes to the Yucatán Peninsula

Rustic wood, wrought iron, vibrant colour, and tantalizing patterns: the homes of Mexico blend native tribal styles and Spanish architecture with warm, textured simplicity. Dive into inspiring and remarkable abodes in this updated, compact portfolio of villas, casitas, haciendas, cabanas, and palapas, featuring many unpublished images that paint a lively and colourful picture of Mexican style.

South of the border, rich colours and woven textiles form a unique design aesthetic, crafted by the union of local Aztec and Mayan cultures and Spanish influences. Bold pigments and vivid patterns come together in simple and rustic spaces, resulting in a way of living that is both invigorating and homely; an authentic Mexican style.

The dynamic writer and photographer duo Barbara and René Stoeltie have struck gold again—this time with a truly breathtaking look at Mexico’s most remarkable abodes. Travelling far and wide, from Costa Careyes to the Yucatán Peninsula, this photographic journey will surprise, delight, and inspire you.

From the home of Constructivist architect Luis Barragán, a restored 16th-century hacienda, to a traditional Mayan thatched-roof dwelling, the contrast of styles within the pages of this book are testament to the country’s vibrantly diverse palette of textures and hues. With many new images, some never published before, prepare to be transported to the heart of lush and eclectic Mexico.

In a Land Not So Far Away. Arabian Nights in contemporary Morocco

From fragrant, labyrinthine souks and delectable cuisine to breathtaking landscapes and welcoming people: Morocco might be a stone’s throw from Spain, but it continues to inspire visions of an exotic haven. This edition brings together an eclectic selection of homes to showcase the best of Moroccan wonders, complete with exclusive, never-before-seen photographs.

Though it lies just across the Mediterranean from Europe, barely a stone’s throw from Spain’s southernmost tip, Morocco couldn’t possibly be farther away.

With its mountainous and desert landscapes, labyrinthine souks, delectable cuisine, exquisite rugs and textiles, vibrant mosaics, fragrant odors, mesmerizing music, and welcoming people, Morocco is a most alluring and tantalizingly exotic destination. Digging a little deeper into the myth of Morocco, Barbara and René Stoeltie bring us this eclectic selection of homes to demonstrate all that is most wonderful about the Moroccan style: from tiled, turquoise swimming pools and lavish gardens to carved wooden furniture and jade-colored marble fountains.

With more than 500 pages featuring brand new, unpublished photographs, flipping through these fairy tale–like visions of exotic havens (ideally while sipping a steaming cup of sweet, fragrant mint tea) will instantly whisk you away.

From Cairo to Cape Town. In and out of Africa with National Geographic

Encompassing the best of National Geographic’s pioneering photographs of Africa, this is the definitive visual expedition through the world’s most captivating continent. Adapted from our Around the World in 125 Years and with over 40 mesmerizing new images of spectacular landscapes, bustling cities, local customs, and wildlife photography, this volume brings to life Africa’s boundless beauty and diversity.

For over five generations, National Geographic magazine has dazzled and educated people with its incredible photographs and gripping stories from all corners of the earth. Inspired by our monumental Around the World in 125 Years, this volume curates around 200 captivating images sourced directly from the National Geographic historical archives, including 40 new photographs, that traverse the landscapes, history, cultures, and wildlife of Africa.

Our continental journey through amazing Africa ranges from evocative early black-and-white pictures to autochromes, from the golden age of Kodachromes to digital. Along the way, we fly over the misty volcanoes of Uganda in a 1950s plane; follow archaeologists into the cool, musky tombs of Egypt; gaze up at the gleaming skyscrapers of Zimbabwe; admire the ritual masks of the Chokwe tribesmen of Angola; get lost in a labyrinth of alleys and souks in Algeria’s old quarters; wonder at the fragile red-tufted flowers of South Africa’s Drakensberg mountains; trudge behind Kenyan farmers as they battle clouds of flying locusts; and gingerly spy mountain gorillas enjoying the Rwandan sunshine.

Long before the Travel Channel and Google Images, these images celebrated Africa’s spectacular landscapes, incredible wildlife, and diversity — but also reflect edgier stories that speak of rural hardship, environmental threats, and the lasting remnants of forced colonization. Leaving no stone unturned, this definitive voyage is in equal parts a breathtaking homage to an incomparable continent, and a unique tribute to the world’s most famous photography magazine.

Traversing travel, history, culture, social documentary, and conservation, this compendium is in equal parts a breathtaking homage to the spirit and diversity of Europe, and a unique tribute to the world’s most famous photography magazine.

National Geographic pioneered the aesthetic of the photo essay, while continually pushing the medium's technical boundaries, to both entertain and enlighten its millions of loyal readers. Our trans-continental journey through time and space spans across all corners of Europe, from the snow-capped peaks of Finland to the frothy foam parties of Ibiza, from the serene blue waters of the Greek Islands to the Lascaux cave paintings of Southern France.
