Interior design for restaurants is ever-changing, as one trend replaces another in attempt to seduce sophisticated diners the world over. This book is a celebration of the most inspirational and beautiful restaurant spaces on the contemporary scene.
An introduction includes interviews with 11 of the worlds most influential interior designers, who talk about their design philosophy and approach, their own favorite eateries and what makes a great restaurant space. This is followed by four themed chapters: Global Views, Modern Classic, New Baroque and High Concept. The 45 featured projects include work by Patrick Jouin, Christian Liaigre, Karim Rashid and Jean Nouvel. Fans of Bethan Ryders earlier books will not be disappointed by this colorful and exciting new survey of the latest trends from the cream of the international design world.
This book includes a fascinating selection of roofs, from the most classical to the most avant- garde, all of which lend style as well as functionality to the buildings they crown.
The featured projects provide a thorough, up-to-date study of trends in roof design, according to their type, materials used and the respective characteristics they provide.
Works by leading architects are included, as well as some by up-and-coming new talent, all of them fully illustrated with plans and building details which help to give a better understanding of the enormous range of possibilities that exist in roof design in contemporary architecture.
How do you design your life? New Rural: Where to Find It and How to Create It is an interiors book for a new way of living that combines the space and freedom of rural existence with the connections and opportunities of the modern world.
This stunning photo-filled hardback is a guide for those dreaming of moving to the country; inspiration for anyone who craves touches of rural magic and cottage care in their home – wherever that may be; and a window to the distinctive allure of Australia’s vibrant regional towns.
Authored and photographed by interior designer Ingrid Weir, this creative book is much more than a manual or a compilation of pretty interiors. New Rural profiles towns that embody the earthiness and romance of authentic and original rural living (the Hawkesbury Highlands, the Sapphire Coast, Coober Pedy, Kyneton and Satellite Island to name a few), offers guidance on how to find and create it yourself, and detours to subjects such as bringing the outside in, having friends to stay, mixing the old with the new, the importance of texture, and why food eaten outside tastes better.
This is a book about place and space, meaning and connection. It exists at a unique intersection, bringing together Ingrid’s expertise from film and television, interior design and her personal project renovating the old schoolmaster’s house in the gold-rush town of Hill End, New South Wales.
Get lost between these pages and wander through new ways of living.
About the Author:
Ingrid Weir has designed interiors in Mexico, Los Angeles and Sydney for clients including The Macquarie Group, The Sydney Opera House, National Parks and Wildlife, Charter Hall, The Film School and The National Art School.

For the past decade she has owned a country escape in the old gold-rush village/artists colony of Hill End in New South Wales' central west. She divides her time between there and Sydney.
Clean lines, functionality and sophisticated form have characterized Scandinavian design for decades. This school is known for its innovation, sometimes with a touch of whimsy where you least expect it. Designs are often closely related to nature. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden are all known for their practical yet aesthetic creations. Nevertheless, despite sharing common cultural roots, each of these Scandinavian countries has its own unique identity. Explore 400 pages of full-color photographs illustrating the latest in Scandinavian architecture and product design.

School buildings, whether new build, refurbishment, renovation or expansion raise issues with the natural environment, urbanisation and urban life, which in turn mean new priorities and responsibilities for professionals designing schools. Modern schools are no longer isolated from their neighbours in a city, but must be an organic part of urban life. Modern school designs showcase new priorities, quality-control is always first, sustainability is in and schools are the new centre of community residents' life. We selected 42 school designs by world architects and interior designers, including primary and secondary schools and professional training schools.
