Cool, creative, and not afraid to buck convention, Amsterdam makes the hearts of architecture and design lovers beat a little faster.

You’ll find furniture that is refreshingly different, yet still functional; hotels where creative minds feel at home; restaurants that are a joy for both the eye and the palate; and museums and concept stores around every corner. Good design is in the genes of the capital city of the Netherlands, visible almost everywhere you look — in part, thanks to pioneers like Marcel Wanders, Piet Boon, and the Droog Design Collective. So it’s no surprise that MENDO (“the coolest bookstore for visual beauty”) chose to make its home in Amsterdam. We worked with interior design insiders to bring you Living in Style Amsterdam, the latest volume in the series of the same name, and share the dare-to-be-different Dutch design mentality.

Selected private apartments, carefully restored 17th-century canal houses, and extravagant high-design hotels and penthouses all opened their doors to us. And what lies behind them? Innovative living spaces and furnishing concepts freed from transitory trends and the talented visionaries who created them. Meet internationally-recognized icons and discover talented newcomers to the Dutch design and architecture scene like Joyce Urbanus, Dax Roll, and James van der Velde. Living in Style Amsterdam is a timelessly beautiful photo book that will provide a wide range of ideas for every design lover and whet your appetite for your next trip to this inspiring city!

If you love one-of-a-kind books and want to pick up some furnishing tips as you shop for new things to read, you
will feel right at home with the trendsetters at MENDO.

The concept store in the heart of Amsterdam, founded by Roy Rietstap und Joost Albronda in 2002, became the instant go-to spot for style-loving bibliophiles. Fans of the store include design greats like Piet Boon. Along with the best books in fashion, photography, interior design, food, and travel, books actually serve as the literal foundation for the store: if you look closely, you will see that the simple, elegant black walls are actually made of precise stacks of books — an idea that is typical Amsterdam!

A must-have for every interior design aficionado

There is no other European capital where your home is (literally) as dear a possession as it is in London, a place where your postal code can be a powerful calling card. Anyone who has ever strolled through the city’s various neighborhoods, passed its modern skyscrapers, and entered into one of the many Georgian or Victorian buildings, has probably experienced a great curiosity, if not envy, about residing in this genteel and historical, yet thoroughly modern metropolis. Examples of breathtaking design abound in Living in Style London, as readers will see how London interior designers and architects create residences perfectly tailored to the people who live there, while making optimal use of the available space. Photographer Andreas von Einsiedel and author Karin Graabaek Helledie, both residents of London, escort us on a trip through the imposing residential landscape of this storied British city, a place as diverse and varied as its homeowners. Renovated industry lofts, carefully restored row houses with light-flooded bay windows, or glass oases with spectacular views of the Thames are presented with informative accompanying texts, showing off the most impressively beautiful homes found in the English capital.

Born in Denmark, KARIN GRAABAEK HELLEDIE developed her sense for good design and furnishings in the cradle! For more than twenty years, the journalist and book author (Living in Style Scandinavia, teNeues), who lives in London, has been writing about trends, interior design, and travel for international publications like Danish newspaper, Børsen, and interior magazine, RUM. As an homage to her adopted home, she also wrote an intimate city guide called, London My Love!

From private residences to hotels and registered historic properties, ANDREAS VON EINSIEDEL, an interior photographer born in Germany and living in London, knows how to make a room pop. For more than thirty years,
Andreas von Einsiedel’s work has been published in renowned international publications including House & Garden, Homes & Gardens, Architectural Digest, and Elle Decoration. He also does regular work for The National Trust, a non-profit organization for the protection of historic buildings in Great Britain.

A visually mesmerizing and inspiring work — the perfect coffee table book for interior design aficionados, architecture lovers, and style-conscious Paris fans

Home of Chanel to LVMH, Paris extends its style influence well beyond Fashion Week. By the time the renowned furniture trade show Maison et Objet opens its doors, the French fashion capital reveals itself to be a barometer of taste and aesthetics and a magnet for the who’s who of the interior design world. Caroline Sarkozy is one of the insiders who knows precisely how to lend apartments, houses, and lofts that “je ne sais quoi” factor. Sarkozy, who lives and works in Paris, has tremendous expertise and a unique, elegant style that is perfectly at home in luxurious interiors around the world. She grew up in the USA, the Middle East, and Africa, and together with French photographer Jean-François Jaussaud, she whisks us into the personal living spaces of the most beautiful arrondissements of Paris in the second edition of Living in Style Paris. From timeless, understated interiors and ornate, yet refined Art Deco apartments to spectacular dream oases at the city’s edge: captured in opulent pictures and carefully curated, this book provides an intimate look at the work of design greats such as Muriel Brandolini, Juan Montoya, Joseph Dirand, Christian Astuguevieille, Luis Laplace, Olivier Dwek and Chahan Minassian, Studio KO, and the exclusive hideaways in the metropolis on the Seine that are normally hidden away from prying eyes.

As an interior designer, CAROLINE SARKOZY travels all around the world. She decorates the very private interiors of international clients to which she brings luxury, comfort and French elegance. Sarkozy, through her eclectic and never-ending curiosity, creates for her clients unique collections of objects and furniture. From a nomadic childhood, in the footsteps of a diplomatic stepfather, Caroline has acquired an acute taste for travel. She succeeds in combining charm and thoroughness, giving authenticity and personality to the homes she decorates. She dares to mix styles, textures and colors. With her degree from the Parsons School of Design in New York City, her collaboration with Andrée Putman has given her a recognition. Creating her own studio in 1998, CS Décoration in Paris, Sarkozy handles international projects, mixing her original creations with detailed and elegant interior design schemes.

JEAN-FRANÇOIS JAUSSAUD is the founding director of photo production and brand image consulting firm Luxproductions Photo Agency. For thirty years, the eagle-eyed photographer has brought us a unique take on the creative arts. Passionate about architecture, design and decoration, he photographs interiors designed by the biggest names in the world for a number of high-end international magazines, including Architectural Digest, Vogue, ELLE, The World of Interiors, House & Garden, The New York Times Magazine and Wallpaper. He also creates the visuals for the catalogs of major French brands such as Hermès, silversmiths Christofle, and champagne house Ruinart. He presents his work at personal exhibitions and has published various books, including Vivre avec l’art (ELLE Décoration with GMÉditions) in 2015 and Inside Venice (Rizzoli USA) in 2016. His next book, to be released soon, will take a behind-the-scenes look at the house and workshops of Louise Bourgeois, the fruit of eleven years of close collaboration with the artist.

A journalist, editor and artistic director specializing in decorating, interior design, the creative arts and lifestyle, CAROLINE CLAVIER has collaborated with a number of leading interior decorating magazines. For the past few years, she has been working for the titles Côté Paris and Côté Sud (Altice Media Group). Finely attuned to all things luxurious, she published the highly creative magazine of the Hôtel de Crillon for five years. Her latest book, Artisans du luxe français, a collaboration with photographer Jean-Marc Palisse published by Éditions de La Martinière, takes an intimate behind-the-scenes tour of the workshops of France’s leading luxury brands. She has also spent the last two years designing and launching The Invisible Collection, a website selling furniture by the biggest names in French interior design.

London may be known as a city of grey for its persistently cloudy skies, but when it comes to everything else, few cities on the planet can boast such colorful palette of converging cultures and styles.

Inherently vibrant and extraordinarily diverse, it has been one of the most important settlements on the globe for nearly two millennia and still stands today as an international leader in virtually every aspect of a modern society. Architecture is undoubtedly one of its most remarkable assets, its wealth of architectural gems transforming the city into an outdoor museum for tourists and locals alike. In addition to harboring an impressive array of historical landmarks, London continues to thrive as a breeding ground for groundbreaking architecture and cutting edge design.

This book presents a selection of the most recent and significant buildings and interiors in London, including the work of renowned architects like Norman Foster and Richard Rogers as well as emerging local practices that have equally contributed to this kaleidoscopic city's flourishing architectural and interior design panorama.

All projects will be listed in alphabetical order to the architects and designers, presented in a very clear layout. As far as available floor plans will give additional insights.

London is swinging again. The latest design trends, the best musicals, the most innovative plays and films are born in the capital of "Cool Britannia". What catches on in Notting Hill, Soho and Hoxton now influences taste as far away as the North Cape and Tierra del Fuego. At the same time, the city on the Thames, one of the most cosmopolitan on the planet, is home to people from every corner of the world and has assimilated many of their traditions and tastes.

With over 300 pages of rich colour photographs, "London Interiors" takes an intimate look at more than 40 private residences, among others the Indian-inspired hideaway of musician Talvin Singh and an amusing houseboat moored in Kew. From a 1930s penthouse at Highpoint Two, landmark of British Modernism, via the eccentric home of a "Royalist" living among Lady Di memorabilia to a loft crammed with "sexy kitsch", the tenth volume of the successful Interiors series is a window on the private worlds of a handful of Londoners whose homes reflect the city in all its spirited diversity.

A collection of photographs from the archives of the magazine Country Life, which form a remarkable and evocative record of houses as they were in a past that now seems almost impossibly remote - the era of the great political hostesses in their Park Lane Mansions, of society beauties in smart Art Deco flats and painters at work in Holland Park.
