Amsterdam Design 1900–1930 In the early 20th century, two movements emerged that were to define Dutch design of the early 20th century: de Stijl (the Style) and de Amsterdamse School (the Amsterdam School). De Stijl was the minimal and modernist of the two.
De Amsterdamse School, on the other hand, broke with rational convention and allowed for the frivolous use of ornament. Amsterdam 1900–1930 contains a visual guide to the design methodology used by graphic designers, architects and artists at the time and hundreds of examples of designs from the first three decades of the 20th century.
CD with designs included.
Meticulously adapted from authentic murals, pottery, jewelry, and other sources, this rich display of designs provides an authentic view of gods and pharaohs, priests and ordinary folk, plants, animals, and other elements of ancient Egyptian life. 434 black-and-white illustrations plus 17 color designs.
This magnificent reproduction of two rare French design collections of the early twentieth century encompasses everything a graphic artist could wish for in ancient Egyptian decor.

All designs in this book were originally recorded in the 1870s, primarily from Egyptian, Persian and Syrian sources. Together, they form a comprehensive graphic overview of the very best geometric design from the Arab world. The images are meticulously re-drawn and digitalized for this publication. The designs are interlocking, so it is possible tocreate larger patterns by repeating the components.
Without a doubt, Arabian geometric ornamentation is among the most sophisticated forms of design of all eras. For Arabian Geometric Patterns, a large collection of the most beautiful and intricate of such designs has been meticulously re-drawn and digitised. All files are included on the accompanying CD-ROM.
