After previous publications about the lofts in Antwerp, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Berlin and Scandinavia the publisher Tectum went on a voyage of discovery in search of the lofts of Brussels. This late-in-the-day European capitol city phenomenon has emerged like lightning. It's happened so fast that the supply of unused industrial buildings has been almost exhausted. The enthusiasm generated by the cosmopolitan public there has encouraged the actors in this market to search for new ways to expand on the generally wide perspectives that appropriate this lifestyle. In other words, lofts are experiencing a 'boom-time' in renovation projects and also new buildings. Regardless of the decorative options chosen by the owners Brussels lofts have adapted well to the demands of modern life. Like anthems to the quality of life and boundless creativity, they revere the large spaces and create dreamlike vacuums venerated by playful decor.

Narrow winding streets, tasteful gardens, and period structures have long made London a Centre of old-world charme. But in the past few years this historic city has made a name for itself in the world of architecture and design, and nowhere is that distinction more evident than in its apartment dwellings, as this colorful volume clearly proves. If you thought living in London meant electric fireplaces and damp cheerless parlors decorated with your grandmother's furniture, think again. Windows that wow, rooms vibrating with color, kitchens so sleek they seem to melt into the walls and bathrooms so luxurious they seem to make other rooms unnecessary-all these and more can be found between the covers of this elegant book that will both inspire and transport. Forty intimate home tours of beautifully appointed apartments, each with its own character, take readers through the basics of space, lighting, and color. Blueprints, sketches, and an informative text aimed at professionals and laypeople alike present each apartment's unique challenges and design strategy. From the witty to the high-tech, the minimalist to the lavish, these London apartments showcase the best work of today's architects and designers and secure London's reputation as one of the most exciting places to live in the world.

London is swinging again. The latest design trends, the best musicals, the most innovative plays and films are born in the capital of "Cool Britannia". What catches on in Notting Hill, Soho and Hoxton now influences taste as far away as the North Cape and Tierra del Fuego. At the same time, the city on the Thames, one of the most cosmopolitan on the planet, is home to people from every corner of the world and has assimilated many of their traditions and tastes.

With over 300 pages of rich colour photographs, "London Interiors" takes an intimate look at more than 40 private residences, among others the Indian-inspired hideaway of musician Talvin Singh and an amusing houseboat moored in Kew. From a 1930s penthouse at Highpoint Two, landmark of British Modernism, via the eccentric home of a "Royalist" living among Lady Di memorabilia to a loft crammed with "sexy kitsch", the tenth volume of the successful Interiors series is a window on the private worlds of a handful of Londoners whose homes reflect the city in all its spirited diversity.

A collection of photographs from the archives of the magazine Country Life, which form a remarkable and evocative record of houses as they were in a past that now seems almost impossibly remote - the era of the great political hostesses in their Park Lane Mansions, of society beauties in smart Art Deco flats and painters at work in Holland Park.

Many of London’s historic houses and even greater numbers of domestic interiors have been lost to us since 1939, as a result of political and social changes, war and a tradition of continual rebuilding. But, thanks to the unique photographic archive of Country Life, this book allows us a vivid glimpse of an age that now seems impossibly remote – the era of great political hostesses in their Park Lane Mansions, of society beauties in smart Art Deco flats and of famous painters at work in the studio houses of Holland Park. The 200 images reproduced here, mostly taken between 1918 and 1939, are arranged to follow the route of a leisurely walk through the capital’s most exclusive residential districts - from the heart of Westminster to St James’s, Mayfair and Park Lane, then ‘North of the Park’ and finally west from Belgravia to Kensington. They show the vanished magnificence of the interiors of the great aristocratic houses like Norfolk House or Chesterfield House. We are taken inside Robert Adam’s Home House when it was home to Samuel Courtauld’s celebrated collection of Impressionist masterpieces and shown the monumental Classical interiors of Dorchester House shortly before they were swept away. There are also many examples of the fashionable decorative arts of the interwar years, including Lady Diana Cooper’s bathroom, ‘Chips’ Channon’s staggering dining rooms and the elegant apartment of Lord and Lady Louis Mountbatten. As well as being a unique record of some of London’s finest homes, this book is a collection of some of the twentieth century’s finest architectural photography accompanied by an illuminating commentary by a leading historian of domestic architecture. John Cornforth, who died in 2004, was a regular contributor to Country Life for nearly forty years. His other books included The Country Houses of England 1948 -1998 and, with John Fowler, English Decoration in the 18th Century.

An exploration of the dynamic and innovative architecture and interiors commissioned by Louis Vuitton.  A prescient advocate of contemporary interiors and architecture, Louis Vuitton continues to encourage innovation and playfulness in the designs of their retail spaces without losing sight of the essence of luxury central to its identity. This process of designing places to display high-style objects has created a new venue for cutting-edge architecture and transformed city streetscapes.

This exploration of Louis Vuitton’s international stores, as well as industrial sites and unrealized projects, includes interviews with some of today’s most talented architects and designers who discuss the beautiful and complex structures they have produced in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. This book examines the physical aspects of these buildings as well as the ideas that went into their composition.

Acting as both a backdrop for luxurious retail goods and the physical manifestation of the brand, these spaces are a genre unto themselves that invite exploration. With luxurious finishes and unexpected textures, these fantastic buildings represent the intersection of fashion and interior design.  The book includes interviews with Jun Aoki, Peter Marino, Christian de Portzamparc, David McNulty, and Christian Reyne.

Hidden inside a secluded Irish valley lies Luggala, an exquisite eighteenth-century house at the centre of a 5,000-acre estate. In 1937 Ernest Guinness presented Luggala to his youngest daughter, Oonagh – one of the three famous ‘Golden Guinness Girls’ – following her marriage to the fourth Baron Oranmore and Browne. Oonagh described Luggala as ‘the most decorative honey pot in Ireland’ and made it the centre of a dazzling social world that included peers, painters and poets, journalists and junkies, scholars and socialites.

In the late 1960s she passed the estate to her son, the Hon Garech Browne, founder of Claddagh Records, who has not only maintained but surpassed his mother’s gifts both for hospitality and for bringing together a wide range of creative talents.

Luggala Days celebrates both the unique beauty of this place and the many celebrated names irresistibly drawn there, from writers like Brendan Behan, Robert Lowell, Seamus Heaney and Ted Hughes, to actors and directors such as John Hurt, Daniel Day-Lewis and John Boorman, and above all musicians, including The Chieftains, Mick Jagger and Marianne Faithfull, Bono and Michael Jackson. All of them have succumbed to the enchantment of days passed at Luggala.

Luggala explores "the scandals, intrigues, and heartbreaking beauty of one of Ireland's grandest homes" (Mitchell Owens, Wall Street Journal) that has bewitched the imagination of poets, rock stars, dreamers and the aristocracy alike.

Nestled in a secluded Irish valley, Luggala is an exquisite eighteenth-century house at the centre of a 5,000-acre estate. In 1937 Ernest Guinness presented Luggala to his youngest daughter, Oonagh, who described Luggala as ‘the most decorative honey pot in Ireland’ and made it the centre of a dazzling social world that included painters, poets, scholars and socialites. In the late 1960s she passed the estate to her son, the Hon Garech Browne, who has not only maintained but surpassed his mother’s gifts both for hospitality and for bringing together a wide range of creative talents.
