Ingenuity is the common trait that makes all these spaces work, despite their physical constraints. The A-Z of modern architecture. An unprecedented architecture encyclopedia
"The book provides a splendid record of architecture from the nineteenth century to the present day." - Architectural Review, London
Unlike most architecture encyclopedias, which tend to concentrate more on buildings and floor plans than their designers, this tome puts the architects in the spotlight, profiling individuals so that readers can get a clear overview of their bodies of work.
With more than 270 entries the book covers not only architects but also groups, movements, and styles from the 19th to the 21st centuries. Each architect's entry features a portrait and short biography as well as a description of important works, historical context, and general approach. The lavish illustrations include examples of the best architectural photography in the modern era.
The selected works in this two-volume edition form an overview of the modern movement, providing a context for modern architecture in today's world. The A–Z of Modern Architecture is a comprehensive resource that no architecture professional, fan, or student should be without.

The book’s A to Z entries also cover groups, movements, and styles to position these leading individual architects within broader building trends across time and geography, including International Style, Bauhaus, De Stijl, and much more. New edition of the popular handbook
The Modern Construction Handbook has become a classic of advanced construction literature, not least due to its regular revisions and clear structure with chapters titled “Materials,” “Walls,” “Roofs,” “Structure,” “Environment,” and “Applications.”
Tried and tested component details, examples focusing on sustainability and energy consumption, and an update on finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) introduced in the last edition set new standards for this handbook which serves as a foundational textbook in many architecture courses.
As a primer Handbook to building design, it is a starting point for the more advanced books Modern Construction Envelopes, Modern Construction Case Studies, Modern Environmental Design and Modern Structural Design by Andrew Watts.
_Relevant details and examples for studies
_The most important aspects of building design covered in six chapters
_Project-neutral drawings
