About the Author:

Martina Mondadori Sartogo was born in Milan in 1981. She represents the fourth generation of the Mondadori family and is part of the board of directors of Arnoldo Mondadori Editore publishing group. In 2014 she started Cabana, a magazine focused on Timeless Interiors and Decorative Arts. She is Cabana’s Editor in Chief and curator for the Pop Up Shops on 1stdibs and Moda Operandi, a partnership started in April 2015 to give access to decorative items in the style of the magazine. Martina is also Style European Editor-at-Large for Town and Country U.S.

Simon Devitt is a photographer with a strong practice focus in Photography of Architecture, currently based in Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, in Aotearoa New Zealand. He has an established international practice throughout Australasia and further afield. Andrea Stevens practised architecture for 10 years before embarking on a new career in writing and editing in 2007. She has since contributed to two architecture books for Penguin; written for international titles AR Asia Pacific and Wallpaper*; is the New Zealand Contributing Editor for Australian magazines Habitus and Indesign; and Editor for the local bi-annual Design Guide.

During Sarah’s nearly 35 years as a kitchen designer, she has worked on a multitude of projects in locations as varied as Connecticut, New York, Palm Beach, Houston, and Los Angeles. Sarah has embraced classicism since Richard Sammons of Fairfax & Sammons Architects introduced her to its language in 1994. Her constant analysis of his work, and time spent studying at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, including working with prominent designers, such as Fairfax & Sammons, Ferguson & Shamamian, Gil Schafer, and Bunny Williams, helped Sarah to develop an indepth understanding. Sarah and her team approach each project from the basis of a strong technical background that allows them to work beyond the kitchen and into other rooms of the home. A proud member of the Decorator’s Club of New York, which for over one hundred years has continued to evoke a spirit of excellence that symbolizes the best the industry has to offer, Sarah is also involved with The Greenwich Historical Society and a board member of the Greenwich Arts Council. A lover of education and the arts, Sarah is a proud sponsor of the Darien Arts Center and educational lecture series at the Darien Center for the Arts. Sarah has taught at the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art and has lectured for the Traditional Home Building Show. She has spent over two decades working in a variety of publishing industries, including the creation of six local and national magazines.
