You can't spell TASCHEN without T&A! The world's finest contemporary erotic photographers

Imagine walking into a room filled with the world’s finest contemporary erotic photographers, each with a portfolio of his or her best work. As you browse the photographs they discuss inspiration, censorship, how to find models, and how to make a living capturing beautiful women on film and in pixels.

The New Erotic Photography is the room, and dozens of photographers from various countries are the hosts of this intimate gathering. In this 320 page volume, you will meet Ralph Gibson, Jan Saudek, Terry Richardson, Natacha Merritt, Petter Hegre, Richard Kern, and the many fresh new talents currently redefining eroticism. Playful, provocative and exuberantly sexy, these aren’t your granddad’s art nudes—this is The New Erotic Photography.

International sex appeal. A fresh collection of today's most titillating nudes from around the world

Following on the heels of our highly popular The New Erotic Photography, this second installment features entirely new photographs by 50 of the world’s most intriguing talents. Of the included photographers, 35 are new to this edition; these new photographers, including Eric Bonzi, Cyril Torrent, Jo Schwab, Yossi Loloi, Tomohide Ikeya, Frederic Fontenoy, Andrew Pashis, Jan Hronsky, and Chase Lisbon are drawn from Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Japan, France, Russia, the Czech Republic, and the U.S., respectively, making this a solidly international title. There are also several outstanding women introduced in this edition, including erotic film star Kimberly Kane, Colombian expat Alejandra Guerrero, skate-boarder and heavy metal rocker Magdalena Wosinska, self-portraitist Erica Simone, and our own favorite cougar, Liz Earls.

The images in The New Erotic Photography 2 document the changing photographic media as much as the evolution of erotic photography since the previous book was published. Over half the photographers now use digital exclusively, and those who do use film are likely to use Polaroid, or primitive cameras like the Lomo and Holga, experimenting with film for its special effects rather than using it as an every day medium.

Over 400 fresh and provocative images!

In his second book, he presents a selection of his passengers, which sat down at his backseat. The result is a collection that captures the breadth of humanity - the whole world of people - that can pass through the back seat of a New York City taxi.

Edward S. Curtis

Видавництво: Taschen

At the turn of the 20th century, the American photographer Edward Sheriff Curtis (1868–1952) started on his 30-year project to produce a monumental study of North American Indians. Using an approach that was both artistically and scientifically ambitious, he recorded, in words and pictures, the traces of the traditional Indian way of life that was already beginning to die out.

With tireless personal commitment, Curtis visited 80 American Indian tribes from the Mexican border to the Bering Strait, gaining their confidence through his patience and sensitivity. His work was printed in 20 volumes between 1907 and 1930 as The North American Indian, but with only 272 copies, originals became extremely rare.

This book gathers Curtis’s entire American Indian portfolio into one publication, offering renewed access to and appreciation of his extraordinary achievement, which is as much a precious historical document as a triumph of the photographic form.

Gathered around the fire, source of life, protected from the elements by ice and animal skins, the peoples of the great north bring pleasure into their bleak existence by using what meagre sustenance they find in nature. Tales and histories inspire the imagination of these peoples during the long winter evenings, giving rise to a little-known culture, that of men for whom day is often night. The distinctive identity passed on to us so vividly by the peoples of the great north is gradually disappearing, particularly in the mad rush to colonize northern Siberia and in the frenzied search for wealth beneath the earth.

Ansel Adams

From 1948 to 1976 Ansel Adams produced seven portfolios, each a limited edition of 10 to 15 signed photographic prints. This book reproduces all 90 of these superb images, including many of Adams's most famous monumental landscape photographs and some remarkable, less familiar portraits and architectural studies. The Portfolios of Ansel Adams was first published in 1977. In 1981 it was decided to take advantage of new printing technology and also to have the book redesigned. In this new printing, the typography from the introductory texts of the original portfolios was faithfully reproduced. In addition, new laser-scanned separations were made of all the images to guarantee the best possible reproduction of the photographs. In his eloquent introduction, John Szarkowski observes that of all Adams publications, his portfolios most clearly represent his personal view of the meaning of his work.

A graphic exploration of the origin of hardcore

Long, long ago, in the year 1965, there was no explicit pornography. There was the odd grainy stag film, the occasional French postcard, the rare Cuban chapbook or homemade Polaroid, but the glossy professional color pornography ubiquitous to modern society did not exist. The man who changed all that was Berth Milton of Stockholm, with his audacious little digest, Private. He and Private were directly responsible for Swedish Parliament's decision to treat sexually explicit materials as protected free speech, leading to the abolition of obscenity laws over most of northern Europe. With its smiling, exuberantly uninhibited models, Private created a fantasy of Sweden as the most liberated country on earth, a sexual wonderland that enchanted men around the globe. Publisher Milton was the magazine's sole photographer, so the Private paradise was very much his personal dream. Genius and tyrant, he insisted on only the best for his magazine, rising in the 1970s to become the Hugh Hefner of Hardcore.

This five-volume, 960-page mini-boxed set presents the best of Private from 1970 to 1979. Each 192-page book features seven to ten of the best photo sets, arranged in chronological order, produced from the original color transparencies. Also included are photos never seen in the magazine, plus behind-the-scenes photos of Milton at work and all of the magazine covers. Vintage art, ads, and editorials complete this fascinating look at the birth of pornography and the infamous Swedish Sin.
