Spaces designed for leisure are each day surpassing their predecessors in boldness and originality. Architects in recent years have been able to more freely express their full creative potential in the use of idioms, new materials and singular forms, creating distinct, almost theatrical, atmospheres in nightclubs. There has been a tendency toward making each work a reference in itself, in giving it that distinctive mark which sets it apart from the rest. These are spaces that people enjoy frequenting not only for the music, drinks or good food, but also because of an architecture which has been meticulously and expressly designed for a given place. The architects have displayed an understanding of the concept that customers must feel drawn by these spaces, that they should feel they have come to a special place - a refuge where they can expect to find friends or where they can simply have a drink after work. The act of socializing requires, to a certain extent, a context in which customers can feel at ease, knowing they are in the "best" place they could be. Special care taken in lighting, good views and the search for a unique aesthetic is shown in the works presented in this volume: a selection of 23 of the latest and most innovative projects designed by internationally renowned architects, including the likes of Simone Micheli, 3deluxe, Tag Front and Ora-’ito Studio. This is an indispensable volume for exploring the latest architectonic tendencies in this field, from the most respected firms, with a wide range of floor plans and construction details for a more complete understanding of the finished project, as well as work methods and materials.
